Oh Mother's Day!

I thought since my last blog about Steve and Homework was not very telling of how nice he can be that I would write a quick blog on how wonderful my day has been today.

We went out for Matt's Birthday last night and we got home at approximately 2:47 in the am. I had worked a 9 hour day at the salon and I didn't even get a break to eat lunch. So, when we left for the bar I was already falling asleep in the car. We had a couple of adult beverages and headed home when they had last call.

So, needless to say I was very tired this morning. When I heard Noah wake up, I told Steve and the craziest thing happened. It took him less then a minute to get up and start the day with Noah. I was SHOCKED. This never happens, when I say Noah is awake, it usually takes 5-15 minutes for him to put two and two together. So, he got up, and I went back to sleep only to be woken up by breakfast in bed!!! An omlette, which turned into scrambled eggs because apparently the omlette broke in the transition to the plate. I also had bacon, toast, and potatoes. I got out of bed around 11:30 in the am, and then played some Guitar Hero with Steve and Noah, turns out Noah is better then I am at Guitar Hero! Noah went down for a nap, as did Steve and I!!

It was so nice to not have to change one diaper today, clean up the poop from one of the dogs, or clean up the ketchup that Noah smeared on the wall! And I got flowers that were not carnations this time around! All in all, it was a FABULOUS day!

Steve's Response...By: Kaytie

For the record, Steve feels I am making him come across as an inconsiderate asshole. He is not. I tried to explain to him that the underlying message of the whole thing is:
Well, Kaytie, your doing homework, so you can't play Guitar Hero anyways.
I love the Hoosband very much and he is not inconsiderate, but he is SUCKIN IT UP right now!! Karma.

Steve and Homework

I'm going to write this post in pink, because I would like this to come across as lovingly as possible. I HATE homework, yet I love Steve. This is the part that might not come across as so "lovingly". Sometimes he is just such an ass...

Here I am, 11:10 in the pm just finishing my homework after a long hard day at work (I know...BOO HOO KAYTIE) and watching Steve becoming ever so frustrated because he is inconsistently sucking ass at Guitar Hero Metallica. Here's my beef, I have been at work all freakin day...then I come home, got to love on my child for approximately 7 point 2 minutes before he goes to bed, and then I have to proceed to respond two separate responses to Discussion questions, and complete two CheckPoints for school.

So, I began to embark on my never ending load of homework, while I do have a splitting headache, and he looks at me with these huge pathetic eyeballs and says..."Are you going to be ok doing homework if I play Guitar Hero?" My first thought is yes. My second is an immediate NO. How am I ok doing homework, with a splitting headache and you get to sit here for 3 and a 1/2 hours now playing Guitar Hero????????????? Come on dude, have a little respect. If I can't be doing something fun, don't sit here and do it infront of me....in all fairness, shouldn't he be staring at a computer too, every once in a while checking in on Facebook and Twitter...or even checking out the new NUDEY PICS of RHIANNA??? (Side note: I didn' t think they were that bad...I'm pretty sure her head was never attached to any of the pictures with her body, I think they're fakes)
back to the issue. Shouldn't Steve be experiencing my pain as well? I guess one could compare the to "sypmathy pains" during child birth or "sypmathy craving"? I mean, Steve was very supportive of my eating habits when I was "with child" (thank you Other Boleyn Girl), come on, he gained like 20 lbs when I was pregnant and still hasn't lost it!

My advice to Esteban---Next time, proceed with caution and feel the pain bitch.

Good day.

Babysitter or Child Care Technician?

I received an email today from my sister:

"Elaine and I were talking today about you needing to update your blog. We like what you write about, and we need some entertainment during class to get us through until June 9th. Please write some blogs for us. Love, Your Best Sister---Jennifer"

Hold up...let's just wait one minute. It's on me to make sure that my sister and Elaine (no offense to you Elaine, I know she made you agree to what she emailed) can "make it through until June 9th"?? This is crap! It's not like I don't have a two year old, along with watching my nephew Cameron (some of you might know who he is) just started a new job that I am hoping to do very well at...WAIT, did I mention school on top of that?!? I will say I am going strong with a 4.0 however.

So, I have decided to be a good little sister and update my blog...now on to...Babysitter or Child Care Technician?

Some of you might recognize this quote...if not, I am not telling you where I got it from and you will have to do your homework to find out, but after I heard this is got me thinking...

1. I am a mother. That stands alone and I don't think it needs much explanation.
2. Babysitter-A person engaged to care for one or more children in the temporary absence of parents or guardians---yes, the actual definition of a babysitter.
3. Child Care Technician-No definition, but if I could guess this means "babysitter".

Here's the thing...I can only count to 5 so many times during the day. I can only sing the ABC's so many times during the day. I sometimes wonder if my sanity is at stake to try to teach these kiddos the basics/fundamentals so that at least one of the kids parents' don't think that I am really holding true to the jokes I have made about giving their child beer for breakfast, a shot of whiskey with a prozac chaser for lunch and the ever so infamous Jungle Juice for an afternoon snack. I mean, I have sang the ABC's a THOUSAND times, and do you think either child wants me to feel like I have accomplished anything with them? No, of course they don't. I'm just the babysitter/mom/Auntie. Really Noah, how long is it going to take for you to count to three on your own?!? You're killin me Smalls.

So I have decided, not until one of these boys I watch makes it known that they have actually learned something I taught them, I will be known as the Babysitter. I will let it be known, if neither of them complies to my requests before June 9th, they will sleep outside, by themselves, and I am not kidding. When I know one of them has learned either 1, 2, 3 or a, b. c I can not become a Child Care Technician.
